“We Must Win At Home”: Zwane Rallies Usuthu Ahead of Siwelele Clash

AmaZulu FC will return to home turf for match-day three of the Betway Premiership as they host Siwelele FC at Hollywoodbets Kings Park on Saturday afternoon, with kick-off scheduled for 15:00.

Usuthu enter the encounter buoyed by a resilient midweek performance against defending champions Orlando Pirates at the same venue, where they showed immense grit to come from behind and claim a point. However, head coach Arthur Zwane maintains that his side should have walked away with all three points, emphasising the
critical need to convert home fixtures into maximum points.

“If you want to be counted amongst the best in the country, firstly you must be able to win at home, you must not drop points at home,” Zwane emphasised. “Then you can think about going outside and stealing points here and there, because they will also make your life difficult away from home.”

While history favours Usuthu, having gone undefeated against Siwelele last season with a 2-0 home victory and a 1-1 draw on the road, squad fatigue remains a pressing concern for the technical team. Following a gruelling 120-minute MTN8 quarterfinal battle against Sekhukhune United and the intense midweek clash with Pirates, Zwane highlighted the delicate balance between player management and squad fitness.

“Next game we’ve got Siwelele, and probably 80% of those players will play, so I’ve got to manage them properly,” Zwane noted regarding his recovery protocols. “Ice baths, light football action, tennis here and there, getting proper massages so that they recover fully and come back ready. We are playing at home and we have to capitalise, we can’t complain. As coaches, we are solution-driven rather than complaining, but that is just me highlighting my situation at the moment.”

For Siwelele, the fixture presents a high-stakes opportunity to reset after a shocking 1-0 setback against newly promoted KwaZulu-Natal outfit Milford FC. Holding just one point from their opening two matches, the visitors remain desperate for their first victory of the campaign. With Zwane’s side determined to safeguard their unbeaten league start and Siwelele fighting to kick-start their season, Saturday afternoon promises an intense battle on the East Coast.
