AmaZulu FC head coach Arthur Zwane has urged his charges to take their goal-scoring opportunities following a recent match against Stellenbosch FC.

Stellies claimed a narrow 1-0 win over Usuthu in the Betway Premiership encounter played at the Danie Craven Stadium in Stellenbosch on April 15.

It was a game in which AmaZulu created several scoring opportunities that they failed to convert and Sanele Burns’ 29th-minute goal earned Stellenbosch the win.

“For me, you’ll never get Stellenbosch coming to you like this. You know, we should have capitalised,” Zwane said.

“You’re playing against Stellenbosch that are thinking about playing in the semi-final. Because they want to go all the way to the final, which is good for the country.

“So, capitalise on that. Put them under pressure in such a way that you could see coach Steve (Barker) was trying to make sure that he saves some of the players,” the retired winger continued.

“And he lost one of his players. So, in their minds already, when they see one of their players going out, knowing that they’re playing a very important game, then what do you do?

“Apply more pressure on them! They will panic. And they did actually, but we did not capitalise.”

AmaZulu will be looking to return to winning ways when they face Golden Arrows in the Betway Premiership at the Mpumalanga Stadium in Hammarsdale.

The KwaZulu-Natal Derby encounter will kick off at 15h00.
