AmaZulu head co-coach Arthur Zwane has spoken about why the club won’t have any problems with a co-coaching system.
Zwane reckons that Vusimuzi Vilakazi along with himself will work well because they understand each other.
Co-coaching is a system that has become extremely popular in South African football, however it hasn’t always worked out for the best in some cases.
He emphasised that, aside from the strong understanding and shared belief in young talent between him and Vilakazi, the responsibilities of a head coach are just as significant as those of an assistant coach.
“I know a lot of people view this co-coaching thing differently,” Zwane told iDiski Times.
“But I’ll tell you something, when a coach is heading or he’s leading he’s got his assistant.”
“It is more like co-coaching. Yes, one has to take the responsibility which is the head coach but the assistants are also doing the responsibilities more or less the same. It’s just the title,” he added.
“I wouldn’t want to talk about other coaches because I don’t know what the dynamics were there but, in our case, I believe it’s going to work. It’s going to work, why? Because we know each other very well.”
