AmaZulu FC President Sandile Zungu has explained why head coach Arthur Zwane’s stay at the club has been extended by the senior management.
The 51-year-old tactician joined Usuthu in October 2024 along with Vusumuzi Vilakazi, who left the club in February 2025, with the former assuming the role of sole head coach.
AmaZulu are currently placed sixth in the Betway Premiership standings and they are looking to finish in the top eight in order to qualify for next season’s MTN8.
Zungu has stated that Zwane will remain in charge of Usuthu as the former Kaizer Chiefs head coach has done a ‘wonderful job’ at the KwaZulu-Natal giants.
“I can confirm that Arthur Zwane is with AmaZulu beyond this season,” Zungu said.
“That decision has been made; we believe he’s done an awesome job in instilling character into the team. We think he needs to be rewarded with greater loyalty from us as a club.
“This decision has been communicated not only to him but also to the players and the technical team,” he continued.
“Arthur Zwane is part of the AmaZulu Football Club beyond the end of this season. That’s a fact, and we are very pleased with his good work.”
AmaZulu will end their Betway Premiership campaign with a match against Orlando Pirates at the Moses Mabhida Stadium on May 24. Kick-off is at 15h00.
