AmaZulu FC will be targeting nothing but a win when they face Stellenbosch FC in a DStv Premiership match at the King Zwelithini Stadium on Sunday.
Kick-off is at 3:30 pm CAT.
Usuthu recorded their fourth successive draw across all competitions when they drew 0-0 with Marumo Gallants away in a league clash on Wednesday night.
The KwaZulu-Natal giants are currently placed eighth on the league standings – three points behind sixth-placed Chippa United and they will be hoping to cement their spot in the top eight with a win over Stellies.
Romain Folz, the AmaZulu head coach, has pointed out that there are things he needs to fix following their clash with his former club, Gallants.
“It’s not a good point, it’s not a bad point, but it’s a point that we will take and try to learn what needs to be fixed,” Folz said.
“We need to find more consistency. I say the same thing I’ve been saying from the first game. I think our physical level is not where it should be. So the break upcoming is going to be good for us
“Because we are going to be able to restart the engine and develop the guys in those departments, and I believe that soon we will be able to have more consistent games, so the aim is to get to that point as soon as possible.”
Meanwhile, Stellenbosch extended their winless run to three matches in the DStv Premiership when they succumbed to a 2-0 defeat to SuperSport United at home on October 18.
Stellies, who are under the guidance of coach Steve Barker, find themselves placed ninth on the league standings – level on points with AmaZulu and they will be looking to move into the top eight with a victory this weekend.
Last season, AmaZulu and Stellenbosch drew 2-2 in the first round league clash in the Western Cape, before drawing 2-2 again in Durban.
