AmaZulu FC will battle it out with Lamontville Golden Arrows at the Princess Magogo Stadium in a DStv Premiership match on Wednesday.
Kick-off is at 7:30 pm CAT.
Usuthu are probably the most in form team in the local top flight at the moment having won three successive matches with their most recent win coming against Swallows FC as they emerged as 3-2 winners away on Friday.
The KwaZulu-Natal giants are sitting at the top of the DStv Premiership standings with 10 points from four matches and they will be seeking revenge against Arrows as Abafana Bes’thende are the last team to defeat them in the league.
“We’ve started well and for them, it hasn’t been the start they wanted, so that makes the game even more difficult for us,” AmaZulu midfielder Keagan Buchanan said ahead of their clash with Arrows.
“We can’t underestimate them because we know what type of a team they are. For us is just to continue with our momentum. For us, it’s early stages and obviously, people are gonna start talking and say we’re top of the log.
“Yes, we’re happy about that but we’re being humble and we’re not trying to say we’ve arrived. We just going to take it game by game.”
Meanwhile, Arrows’ struggles in the DStv Premiership continued when they extended their winless run to four matches in the current season with a 0-0 draw against TS Galaxy at home over the weekend.
Abafana Bes’thende find themselves placed 15th on the league standings with two points from four matches and they will be hoping to claim their first victory of the season against Usuthu.
Last season, AmaZulu drew 2-2 with Arrows away in the first-round league clash, but Abafana Bes’thende won 2-1 in the reverse fixture.
