AmaZulu FC duo Riaan Hanamub and Elmo Kambindu helped Namibia boost their ambitions of qualifying for the 2026 FIFA World Cup finals.

The Brave Warriors claimed an impressive 1-0 away win against Malawi in a qualifying group (Group H) match, played at the Bingu National Stadium in Lilongwe on Thursday.

Hanamub played the entire match as the Brave Warriors’ defence kept a clean sheet against Flames, whose attack was led by former AmaZulu striker Frank Mhango.

Kambindu was introduced in the 76th minute as the experienced striker replaced goalscorer Prins Tjiueza, who netted the only goal of the match in the 40th minute.

The victory over Malawi has elevated Namibia to the second spot in the Group H standings with five matches left in this round of the qualifiers.

Hanamub and Kambindu will now turn their attention to Monday’s clash between Namibia and Equatorial Guinea.

The match will be played at the Peter Mokaba Stadium in Polokwane. Kick-off is at 15h00.
