The South Africa squad for the 2025 African Union Sports Council Region 5 Youth Games has been revealed.
The regional tournament will take place in the capital city of Namibia, Windhoek, from the 4th of July – 13 July 2025
AmaZulu FC academy attacker Obama Mhlongo is one of the 20 players who have been included in the South Africa squad for the competition.
The teenage sensation is a regular for Usuthu in the DStv Diski Challenge (DDC) and his exploits have not gone unnoticed.
Mhlongo was part of the 40 young players who attended the South African men’s national team Under-17 selection camp in the South of Johannesburg earlier this month.
The South Africa squad will be under the guidance of coaches Vela Khumalo and Thabo Mngomeni at the African Union Sports Council Region 5 Youth Games.
Some of players could be included in South Africa’s squad for the 2025 FIFA U17 World Cup finals in Qatar from 3 – 27 November.
