AmaZulu FC have signed former Mamelodi Sundows and Kaizer Chiefs central midfielder on a free transfer.
The accomplished player was released by Sundowns at the end of the 2021-22 season and he has now found a new home at Usuthu.
AmaZulu chairman Sandile Zungu announced Maluleka’s arrival at the Durban-based club.
“We are very excited about him,” Zungu told the media.
“Not only does he have the pedigree to with titles but we felt he brings balance in the team, something ought to be done in that midfield.
George Maluleka, who is a former Bafana Bafana international, has won the PSL championship with both Sundowns and Chiefs.
“He is a perfect fit for us. He is excited about joining AmaZulu and we are equally excited about having him come to Usuthu,” he continued.
“So it’s now signed, sealed and delivered. He is now a fully-fledged AmaZulu Football Club player. It’s a two-year contract plus an option of a further year. He is happy and we are very happy.”
The 33-year-old has become AmaZulu’s 10th signing as coach Brandon Truter’s side prepares for the upcoming 2022-23 campaign
Veluyeke Zulu, Riaan Hanamub (both Chippa United), Thendo Mukumela (Cape Town Spurs), Dumisani Zuma (Kaizer Chiefs), Augustine Kwem and Ethan Brooks (both TS Galaxy), Rally Bwalya (Simba, Tanzania) and Frank Mhango (Orlando Pirates) and George Maluleka (Mamelodi Sundowns) have also joined Usuthu.
