AmaZulu were unlucky to draw 1-1 with Moroka Swallows in the DStv Premiership on Tuesday evening at the King Zwelithini Stadium, following a last minute equaliser from the away team.
The first half of the match saw Usuthu keep the ball well but the Dube Birds also had a fair share of chances, most notably from forward Gabadinho Mhango. Neither team could capitalise on their shots on goal, leading to the scoreline being goalless at the half time break.
The second half saw the KZN team make more of an effort in terms of attacking, knocking on the door until it opened. The goal would come from Riaan Hanamub, whose strike was that of a forward player in the 73rd minute, opening his account for this campaign.
AmaZulu did well to hold onto their lead, until stoppage time. A lapse in concentration caused the team to concede during stoppage time as Augustine Mahlonoko’s goal in the 92nd minute broke the hearts of the home fans.
The teams shared the spoils and Usuthu remain in 10th position in the log, registering their 8th draw in the DStv Premiership this season.
