Usuthu seek Carling Black Label Cup glory

AmaZulu FC are set to make their debut appearance in the Carling Black Label Cup which is a high profile unofficial tournament on Saturday.

Usuthu will go head to head with Mamelodi Sundowns in the first semi-final match of the one-day event at the world class venue, FNB Stadium. Kick-off is at 09h30 am.

The winner between the two teams will progress to the final where they would face either Kaizer Chiefs or Orlando Pirates with the two Soweto giants set to meet at 12h00 pm.

The final of the eagerly anticipated tournament will kick-off at 5h00 pm, while a third-place off penalty shootout is scheduled for 3h30 pm.

The 16 PSL teams have received R100,000 each for being involved in the process as the top four teams with the most votes made it to the semi-finals.

AmaZulu, Chiefs, Pirates and Sundowns are granted R2-million each for taking part in the semi-finals and the tournament winner will walk away with R1 million, and a trophy.

The four semi-finalists’ starting line-ups were put together via a public vote, with supporters picking the strongest available teams.

The team captains are also selected by the fans through voting.
