Usuthu players selected for COSAFA Cup

AmaZulu's Tshepang Moremi, Olwethu Mzimela and Ethan Brooks

The South African Football Association (SAFA) has announced the final Bafana Bafana squad that will take part in the COSAFA Cup in Gqeberha. The tournament will commence on 26 June and conclude on 7 July.

The team will be coached by Bafana Bafana coach Hugo Broos’ assistant, Helman Mkhalele. Three AmaZulu players made the final squad, namely:

• Olwethu Mzimela (Goalkeeper)
• Ethan Brooks (Midfielder)
• Tshepang Moremi (Forward)

The COSAFA Cup is regarded as a competition that gives the opportunity for young players to shine in national colours, thus giving them a chance to show their talent and be groomed for the senior national team.

Notably, AmaZulu striker Victor Letsoalo was an integral part of the Bafana Bafana team that won the cup in 2021, finishing as the tournament’s top scorer.
