AmaZulu FC players Olwethu Mzimela and Ethan Brooks have been named in the final South Africa squad for the 2022 COSAFA Cup.
Bafana Bafana are scheduled to enter the tournament at the quarter-finals stage when they face Mozambique at the Princess Magogo Stadium in Durban on July 13.
Brooks, who recently joined Usuthu from TS Galaxy, is the most experienced player in the Bafana squad with six caps.
The 21-year-old attacking midfielder also helped South Africa clinch the 2021 COSAFA Cup in Gqeberha (Port Elizabeth).
While Mzimela, who is a goalkeeper by trade, will be hoping to make his Bafana debut during the regional tournament.
Meanwhile, new AmaZulu player Frank Gabadinho Mhango is part of the Malawi squad which will compete in this year’s COSAFA Cup.
The experienced forward played an instrumental role in helping the Flames reach the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) Round of 16 in Cameroon early this year.
He joined Usuthu from Orlando Pirates last month.
