Usuthu needed someone like Robinson – Zwane

AmaZulu FC head coach Arthur Zwane has hailed his colleague Wendell Robinson’s winning mentality and experience.
Robinson joined the Usuthu family as the new goalkeeper coach in March 2025 and he had spent over a decade with reigning Mamelodi Sundowns, where he enjoyed great success.
Zwane explained why the KwaZulu-Natal giants needed someone like former Bidvest Wits and SuperSport United goalkeeper Robinson, who filled the void left by Aubrey Vilakazi in the club’s technical team.
“Coach Wendell is obviously a huge plus in the technical team. He’s got vast experience, has been in the game for a long and has achieved a lot,” the 51-year-old tactician said.

“We needed someone like him and for us to grow, to come and add value to the team. He is one person who likes to win; he is used to winning and you can see he wants to hit the ground running.

“I think we have a very good member of the technical team who will change things better for the club.”

Sixth-placed AmaZulu will end their Betway Premiership campaign with a match against Orlando Pirates at the Moses Mabhida Stadium on Saturday, May 24.
Kick-off is at 15h00.
