AmaZulu will face Marumo Gallants in their next Betway Premiership game at the Toyota Stadium on Saturday evening.
Kick-off is at 20h00.
Having got off to a disappointing start to the season, Usuthu will be hoping to collect maximum points in the match against Gallants.
Last time out, AmaZulu lost 3-1 to Kaizer Chiefs, but their second half display was promising according to coach Pablo Franco Martin.
Usuthu had two shots saved by the woodwork, and Amakhosi’s defenders also had to make a clearance off the line.
“In the second half, we could have scored five goals, hitting the post twice and missing chances one-on-one with the goalkeeper,” said Franco Martin.
“In the 15 months I have been here, I can say this is the best 45 minutes we have ever played against such a great team.”
Franco Martin believed they matched Chiefs in nearly every way, although they were more clinical up front than his players.
“We conceded two or three counterattacks which was normal knowing that this is one of their strengths and they played trying to take advantage of that the whole game,” he concluded.
Marumo Gallants are yet to get off the mark this season, as they’ve lost their first three matches in the Betway Premiership.
