AmaZulu FC will look to cement their spot in the top eight when they face Orlando Pirates at the Moses Mabhida Stadium in Durban on Saturday in their final Betway Premiership fixture of the season.

Kick-off is at 3pm CAT.

After suffering a three-game losing streak in March, AmaZulu have bounced back well, winning two, drawing one and losing one of their last four games.

Usuthu sit sixth on the table with 34 points, with Marumo Gallants, Kaiser Chiefs, Chippa United and Polokwane City hot on their heels. A win against Pirates would take AmaZulu above TS Galaxy, securing fifth place and a definite spot in the MTN 8 next season.

Head coach Arthur Zwane has agreed to a new contract extension at AmaZulu and expressed his gratitude towards his players and his plans for next season.

“We’ve been rewarded because the players showed consistency even though our performances were fluctuating,” said Zwane.

“But we showed a lot of hunger and commitment. And yeah, we’ve been rewarded by being in the top eight.

“It’s all up to us now to take it to the next level,” he said.

Orlando Pirates have collected one draw and four wins from their last five Betway Premiership fixtures after beating SuperSport United 1-0 on Tuesday.

Despite being cemented in second place, Orlando Pirates interim coach Mandla Ncikazi believes his side still have much to play for.

“Contrary to people believing that we have nothing to play for, I feel there’s still so much to play for in our team,” said Ncikazi.
