Usuthu look to bounce back with Swallows win

AmaZulu FC will play host to Swallows FC at the Moses Mabhida Stadium in a DStv Premiership match on Saturday.

Kick-off is at 8:00 pm CAT

Usuthu were beaten 2-0 by Stellenbosch FC away on March 17 and the defeat ended their two-match unbeaten run in the league.

The KwaZulu-Natal giants are placed 10th on the DStv Premiership standings – three points behind sixth-placed Richards Bay as the battle to finish in the top eight intensifies.

AmaZulu head coach Romain Folz has stressed the importance of their game against Swallows as the Frenchman looks to mastermind a win.

“We have to win against Swallows. We are now targeting all the points in the remaining matches,” Folz said.

“It is a game that is very important to us just like the other six games. But this one in particular because we play a team that is a little bit difficult and we are not in our best spell of results recently.

“But we understand the importance of the game and we will be there to make sure we give a very good performance.”

Meanwhile, Swallows are also winless in their last two matches having succumbed to a 1-0 loss to Golden Arrows at home on March 17 and it was their second consecutive league defeat.

The Soweto giants are placed 14th on the DStv Premiership standings – three points above the relegation zone and a win over AmaZulu would see Amaswaiswai move further away from the bottom two spots.

Both AmaZulu and Swallows have no suspension concerns coming into this encounter.
