AmaZulu FC will renew their rivalry with their KwaZulu-Natal rivals Royal AM in a DStv Premiership match at the Moses Mabhida Stadium on Saturday.
Kick-off is at 8:00 pm CAT.
Usuthu saw their five-match unbeaten run across all competitions come to an end when they succumbed to a 2-1 defeat to TS Galaxy at home last weekend.
The KwaZulu-Natal giants are now placed 11th on the DStv Premiership standings – three points above the relegation zone and three points behind sixth-placed Sekhukhune United.
Romain Folz, the AmaZulu head coach, explained how they can improve as a team and he also discussed their previous game against Royal which Usuthu lost 2-0 in a league on January 8.
“We need to start linking our performances to results before it’s too late, because we could finish in a position that no one cares about and the season could be obsolete,” Folz said.
“The game is going to be on us to win just like the first one [against Royal], if we take our chances then we win. Even if we concede two, we should score five.
“As much as we need to look at the opponents, we need to focus on ourselves.”
Meanwhile, Royal are now undefeated in their last three matches across all competitions after drawing 1-1 with SuperSport United at home last weekend.
Thwihli Thwahla find themselves placed ninth on the DStv Premiership standings – three points behind fifth-placed Kaizer Chiefs and the Durban side is eyeing a top eight finish this season.
Coach John Maduka’s side will be without Kabelo Mahlasela and Happy Jele who are both suspended, but AmaZulu have no suspension concerns.
