AmaZulu FC head coach Arthur Zwane has stressed the importance of turning Princess Magogo Stadium into a fortress after masterminding a win over Stellenbosch FC.

A brace by Hendrick Ekstein propelled Usuthu to a 2-1 victory over Stellies in the Betway Premiership match played at the 2010 FIFA World Cup training ground on Wednesday.

It was also the KwaZulu-Natal giants’ third successive victory at the Princess Magogo Stadium and Zwane is keen to ensure the venue remains a difficult place for opponents to visit.

“It’s not only us, it’s probably all the teams — we have to make it clear that when you come into our backyard, we have to make your life difficult,” Zwane said.

“That’s the only way we can bring back people in this area to come support us. If we don’t win our home games, how can we expect to win away?

“If you see yourself building something, you don’t let any man beat you in your own house. You know the house better than anyone, you know all the corners,” he added.

“It should be like that in life. In football, Princess Magogo is our house; we should not be beaten at home. And if we happen to lose, teams must leave here saying they had to work for it.”

AmaZulu’s next match is against TS Galaxy at the Mbombela Stadium on September 24. The Betway Premiership encounter will kick off at 19h30.
