Despite showing fighting spirit in the later stages, AmaZulu were defeated 3-1 by Kaizer Chiefs in the Betway Premiership at the Moses Mabhida Stadium on Wednesday evening.

The result is the team’s second defeat, however Usuthu picked themselves up in the second half as the first saw them go three goals behind in a time period of 30 minutes.

Etiosa Ighodaro scored for Usuthu in the beginning of the second stanza, and the players looked rejuvenated as they made an effort to get back into the game.

Tshepang Moremi came close to scoring but hit the post, and so did Ighodaro in the last ten minutes of the match.

The game ended 3-1 with the visitors grabbing the points, however it was a promising fight back from Usuthu in the closing stages of the game.

AmaZulu will be back in action on Saturday evening in the Betway Premiership when they take on Marumo Gallants at the Toyota Stadium.
