AmaZulu and Kaizer Chiefs shared the points in the DStv Premiership following a 1-1 clash played on Sunday evening at the Moses Mabhida Stadium.
The first goal was scored by Kaizer Chiefs through Ashley du Preez in the second minute following a lapse in concentration from the Usuthu defence. The team however, took the unfortunate event in their stride and recovered quickly.
With more of the possession, eventually AmaZulu pulled the goal back as Victor Letsoalo headed in the equaliser in the 38th minute making matters all square at half-time.
The second half was a competitive game of football and Usuthu held their ground well. Veli Mothwa kept Chiefs’ chances to a minimum as he made crucial saves to ensure that they did not concede another goal.
A triple substitution by coach Pablo Franco Martin in the dying stages of the match to make a final push unfortunately were not enough as the two teams shared the spoils in KZN.
