AmaZulu FC head coach Brandon Truter was impressed by his attackers after the team’s win over Cape Town City over the weekend.
Usuthu claimed a come-from-behind 2-1 win over the Citizens in the DStv Premiership match at the Moses Mabhida Stadium in Durban on Saturday.
Goals from Augustine Chidi Kwem and Franck Mhango earned the KwaZulu-Natal giants their second victory in a row in the top flight.
“They had a high line I think in the opening 20 minutes, [but] once we played the ball into the front three they dropped that line,” Truter said.
” [Tariq] Fielies is a seasoned campaigner, who is strong and a bully at times. But he couldn’t bully [Bonginkosi] Ntuli or Kwem and I think Kwem outsprinted him for the goal as well.
“The goal that Gabadinho (Frank Mhango) scored was a cracker and it could be a contender for Goal of the Season already,” he continued.
“So, all three [Mhango, Ntuli and Kwem] scored in the last two matches which augurs well and then you have the likes of Lehlohonolo Majoro and Dumisani Zuma who didn’t play.”
Truter also indicated that the team needs to improve defensively having conceded in back-to-back matches against SuperSport United and City.
“There is firepower upfront. But we have to stop the goals from coming in that is my only concern at the moment because if you take the ball forward into areas for that front three, we will score,” he added.
AmaZulu will take on Swallows FC in the DStv Premiership match at Dobsonville Stadium on Friday.
