AmaZulu had a disappointing start to the season by their standards but things are shaping up at the club after registering their first win.
Usuthu grabbed their first three points of the season when they defeated Chippa United 2-0 in the Betway Premiership and one of the senior figures of the club, Thembela Sikhakhane urged the players not to give up.
Sikhakhane was quoted by IOL before the team started finding their feet again, and his words seemingly made a huge difference.
“Our current position demands a reaction,” Sikhakhane said.
“We are ready… There are a lot of positives. The situation we’re in right now is not a good one, but we have to show determination.”
“We must also not give up because we lost and that we’re at the bottom of the log,” he added.
There’s still plenty of work to do as the club is still in an unsightly position on the league table but they’ve picked up and there’s now light at the end of the tunnel.
