RIP CLIVE “THE DOG” BARKER

Clive Barker

Club President, Sandile Zungu has shared his message of condolences to the Clive Barker (78) family following the Usuthu and Bafana Bafana legend’s passing on Saturday, 10 June after a brave battle with Lewy Body Dementia (LBD).

Barker led South Africa to their only continental triumph at the Africa Cup of Nations finals in 1996 and steered the side to a maiden World Cup appearance in France in 1998, after delivering Usuthu their last cup success in 1992 in the Coca Cola Cup.

“Our deepest condolences go out to the Barkers, his wife, sons, and the entire family. He will always be remembered for his loyal servanthood to the beautiful game across the whole of the continent of Africa.”

“AmaZulu and Bafana Bafana supporters whole him dearly in their hearts for his achievements and it is no different to me as current leader of this historical brand, called AmaZulu Football Club,” said AmaZulu President, Sandile Zungu.

The club will share further communication regarding the memorial service once received from the family in the coming days.
