Mothwa part of Bafana Bafana camp

Veli Mothwa of AmaZulu FC

AmaZulu FC goalkeeper Veli Mothwa is among those selected to represent the South African national team.

Bafana Bafana are busy preparing to face Sierra Leone and Botswana respectively in international friendly matches during the current FIFA break.

The 1996 African champions will take on Sierra Leone on Saturday, before facing Botswana on Tuesday and both games will be played at the iconic FNB Stadium.

The Bafana goalkeeping department is made up of Mothwa, Ronwen Williams of Mamelodi Sundowns and TS Galaxy shot-stopper Melusi Buthelezi.

South Africa lost to France and Morocco in their last two matches under the guidance of head coach Hugo Broos who is keen to ensure that the team returns to winning ways.

“It is often in losses against great teams where the most valuable lessons are learned,” the Belgian tactician told SAFA’s media department.

“But then again you can’t always be learning the lessons and not winning. Everyone loves a winning team and we’re a great team and we want to win.”

Mothwa will be hoping to feature for Bafana when they face the Leone Stars of Sierra Leone and Botswana’s Zebras.
