New AmaZulu FC forward Frank Mhango is determined to win trophies with the KwaZulu-Natal giants.
The Malawi international, who is a highly-rated striker, recently completed his transfer to Usuthu from Orlando Pirates ahead of the 2022-23 season.
The man nicknamed Gabadinho is looking forward to playing for the 1972 National Professional Soccer League (NPSL) champions.
“I am very excited to join the Usuthu team, I can’t wait to start a new challenge and then meet new players, new team, new jersey,” Mhango said.
“I want to win trophies as a player and grow as a player and I want to help the team to achieve the goals and to win trophies, that is what we looking for as a player and the club.”
The last time Usuthu lifted a major trophy was in 1992 when they clinched the Coca Cola Cup and Gabadinho is hoping to taste success with the Durban-based side.
“So, my goal as a player is to help the club achieve trophies, that’s my goal,” the 2019/20 Absa Premiership (now known as the DStv Premiership) Golden Boot award winner added.
Gabadinho has already tasted success in South African football having won three major trophies during his time with Bidvest Wits.
The 29-year-old helped Wits clinch the Absa Premiership championship, MTN8 title and Telkom Knockout trophy.
He also lifted the MTN8 trophy with Pirates in his second season with the Soweto giants.
