AmaZulu FC created a buzz at the King Shaka International Airport in Durban when welcoming Pablo Franco Martin on Thursday.
The Spanish tactician has been appointed as Usuthu’s head coach on a 36-month-long deal ahead of the 2023/24 season.
Having served as an assistant manager at Spanish powerhouse Real Madrid, Franco Martin promised Usuthu great days during his spell.
“We are going to work very hard. I promise good things for the team,” Franco Martin said.
“I’m really happy. I was not expecting this beautiful welcome with all these people here and the club’s president [Sandile Zungu].
“I’m coming here with a lot of expectations for the next seasons. I’m already feeling at home and I think we will achieve great things with the club,” he added.
“Hopefully, I will have more time with the club. I feel this is the real club for me.”
AmaZulu are preparing for the upcoming season which see the team compete in the DStv Premiership, Nedbank Cup and Carling Knockout Cup.
