Sandile Zungu - President
Sandile Zungu (‘’Zungu’’) was born in Umlazi Township, Durban on the 10th of February 1967. He attended Hilton College and completed his post-matric in 1984. The values instilled during his time at Hilton College are deep rooted and Zungu continues to subscribe to them, ‘’courage, respect, humility, compassion, honesty and accountability with integrity in all we do’’.
In 1988 Zungu completed a BSc (Mechanical Engineering) degree at the University of Cape Town (UCT), followed by his Masters in Business Administration (MBA) at the UCT Graduate School of Business in 1995. In 2000 he completed a Program for Global Leadership certificate at the Harvard Business School in Boston, USA. Zungu continues to broaden his knowledge and believes education is key to success.
For Zungu time does not stand still and he is ever progressing. He is considered an entrepreneur at heart and thrives on the chase of a new investment. In 2002, Zungu Investments company (Zico) was established. Zico is a formidable diversified industrial holdings organisation with interests that include education, manufacturing, property, sport, forensics, gaming and resources.
Zungu believes in inspiring transformation, through business empowerment. Investments are the key to economic advancement and sustainability. As a dedicated leader, unwilling to compromise on the aspirations of inclusive growth and equal economic participation.
Zungu is a hardworking and passionate individual, he is an avid sports fan and owner of the Amazulu Football club.

Sinenjabulo Zungu - CEO
Currently Sinenjabulo Zungu is an Executive director and the incumbent CEO of AmaZulu FC (Pty) ltd, essentially looking after the commercial/head office of the club. Her responsibilities include the securing and management of sponsorships and partnerships, stakeholder relations, marketing and commercialisation of the business.
Having worked as the marketing manager at Qhubeka Forensic services end of 2014 and 2016 August – 2017 May, Sinenjabulo was appointed as the CEO in 2017 and officially served in this position until June 2021. Sine now serves as a NON-Executive Director in the company. Qhubeka is a black owned forensic auditing and investigation services company that has been an industry player for the past thirteen years servicing public and private entities in all industries.
In 2015 Sinenjabulo worked in sales at Tiger Brands, looking after wholesalers in the Eastern Cape region.
In 2013 she co-founded a biometric technology business, a business-to- business reseller of access control systems, which saw her explore her entrepreneurial flair.
Upon graduating from the University of Cape Town in 2010, she started her career in the Out of home media space (Outdoor advertising) as a marketing analyst where she was also a representative in the industry board, OHMSA, as part of the marketing committee.

Mfundo Zungu - Non-Executive Director
Mfundo Zungu is currently an Associate at Zungu Investments Company (Pty) Ltd, where he as the primary duty of assisting the Executive within the deal team. This involves originating and assessing transactions as well as providing researched insights to ensure that investment portfolios are well managed.
He has been a part of the Zungu Investments Co. team since 2018, where he joined as an Investment Analyst. Since joining, he has been a member of teams responsible for several acquisitions and disposals, share buy-backs, short and long-term capital raising and the creation of a private equity fund, amongst other things.
Mfundo is currently working at Mettle Corporate and Specialised Finance on secondment. He joined the Mettle Team in August 2020. He has been involved in corporate finance advisory as well as capital origination and structuring from local and international financial institutions and capital providers.
Mfundo’s Non-Executive duties at AmaZulu F.C. include; overall strategic oversight, restructuring and revitalising the Youth Development Program, securing and renegotiating sponsorships as well as managing sponsorship relations.
He holds a Bachelor of Commerce (B.Com.) degree in Economics with Finance from the University of Cape Town as well as a B.Com Honours degree in Business Finance from the University of the Witwatersrand. Mfundo is currently pursuing a Chartered Financial Analyst designation where he has passed Level I.
Bathabile Poro - Non-Executive Director
Bathabile holds a Bachelor of Commerce Honours degree from Nelson Mandela University and is a qualified Chartered Accountant CA(SA). She completed her articles with KPMG in 2010 where she served within the Consumer Markets and Information Divisions.
Prior to joining Zungu Investments Co., Bathabile was a Senior Product Controller at Absa Capital where she obtained invaluable experience in the Commodities and Client Capital Management Desks.
Bathabile is currently the Chief Executive Officer of Zungu Investments Co. where she is responsible for directing the company’s financial goals, objectives, and budgets. She is also responsible for overseeing the investment of funds held by the company, weighing up and managing associated risks.
Charl Ferreira - Non-Executive Director
Charl Ferreira is an Executive Director at Zungu Investments Company (Pty) Ltd. He is a Chartered Accountant and his advisory experience ranges from consulting on and managing acquisitions, disposals, mergers, divestments, tender sale processes, listings and de-listings on the JSE, capital raisings and senior, mezzanine and project finance-based lending in the mining industry.
Prior to joining Zungu Investments Co., Mr Ferreira spent many years with Nedbank Capital, where he was part of the Investment Banking Division, in the M&A Advisory team. He also worked within the Mining & Resource Finance team.
Mr Ferreira is responsible for making investments, disposal as well as managing the investment portfolio. He represents Zungu Investments Co. on various boards as well as sub committees to boards.
Charl holds a B.Com honours degree in Accounting from the Nelson Mandela University and is a qualified Charted Accountant CA(SA).
Mahmood Simjee - Non-Executive Director
Mahmood Dawood Simjee, or Sims as he is fondly known has been thoroughly exposed to and involved in all aspects of shipping and logistics during a 42-year career with Grindrod Limited beginning in 1979, rising to Chief Executive Officer at Ocean Africa Container Lines and Grindrod Intermodal.
Although cricket was Sims first love, he played football during the apartheid era alongside some of the legends of the game, in recent years he steered Ashley United FC who participated in the Motsepe League.
Sims was delighted to see Samkelo ‘The Beast’ Mgwazela in the AmaZulu team, he played for Ashley United FC, a top player and a wonderful young man.
