AmaZulu FC’s veteran midfielder George Maluleka believes the World Cup recess came at the right time for coach Romain Folz.
The French tactician has been afforded the opportunity to work with his players and prepare them for the rest of the current season.
“He is a good coach and we have a good relationship with him,” Maluleka said.
“You guys have seen how the team plays since he took over as coach, but there’s still a lot of work to be done and we’re training hard now.
“He really wants to do well. He is positive and so are the players, and we are looking forward to the second half of the season.”
Maluleka explained that Folz has had the time to implement his philosophy with Usuthu placed seventh on the DStv Premiership standings having collected 17 points from 13 games.
“It’s not going to be easy, because this is where some are fighting hard for survival,” the 33-year-old midfield maestro added.
“I also think that the World Cup recess came at the right time for uFohloza because he now has the time to implement (his philosophy) and tell us what he wants to do moving forward.
“We’ll be able to work on that as he is really making us train hard. He has great enthusiasm for the game.”
Usuthu are scheduled to face Sekhukhune United on December 31 in Polokwane as the DStv Premiership resumes.
