Keeping up with Usuthu Players: Hendrick Ekstein

AmaZulu midfielder Hendrick Ekstein

AmaZulu midfielder Hendrick Ekstein has taken to social media to share his latest business venture and what he’s been up to lately.

It’s important for footballers to have plans in place to sustain themselves once their careers come to an end, and it seems Ekstein is ahead of the curve.

The 33-year-old’s company offers construction services particularly relating to the home. As well as plumbing and other jobs around the house.

Ekstein has launched the venture with his wife Grace and they have stated that they are dedicated to building homes that will “stand the test of time”.

“Our mission is to craft spaces that bring people together and create a sense of belonging. We’re not just building houses, we’re building homes of everlasting memories,” the announcement said.

A few months ago, AmaZulu captain Ramahlwe Mphahlele spoke about the importance of planning for life after football.

“It’s important for players to realise that this is an assignment that they have to do for themselves because nobody is going to come and rescue us,” he said.

“We need to take initiative and get out of our comfort zones, whilst acquiring the knowledge that we need.”
