International Watch: Riaan Hanamub (Namibia)

AmaZulu's Riaan Hanamub

AmaZulu’s Riaan Hanamub is expected to feature for his country Namibia in the upcoming 2026 World Cup qualifiers. The next tournament will be hosted in three countries, namely the United States, Mexico and Canada.

Namibia will be going up against Liberia at the Orlando Stadium in Johannesburg on Wednesday evening. Kick-off is at 18h00 CAT.

The 29-year-old defender is an integral part of the squad, and was also instrumental as they made it to the knockout stages of the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) tournament earlier this year, for the first time in their history.

Namibia is currently first in their CAF WC qualifiers pool (Group H) and will be hoping to continue the positive results of the year by qualifying for the inter-continental showpiece for the very first time, possibly making more ground-breaking in the process.

The two teams who rank second in their respective groups will go into a playoff round to determine which two teams advance to the event, with the winners of the groups earning a spot in the next World Cup finals.
