AmaZulu FC will be looking to come out on top in their next fixture in the DStv Premiership against Mamelodi Sundowns at the King Zwelithini Stadium.
Kick-off is at 7:30 pm CAT.
Usuthu will be looking to get back to winning ways after suffering two successive defeats across all competitions recently. The team find themselves in 11th place in the league standings with the same points tally as TS Galaxy and Chippa United. A win for the KwaZulu-Natal giants will see them go into 8th place.
Meanwhile, Sundowns are currently leading at the top of the table and have won their last five matches in the DStv Premiership. It looks to be a mouth-watering clash between the two teams.
Ahead of the match, AmaZulu defender Mbongeni Gumede lauded the fans for their support and added that it’s crucial for them in terms of motivation.
“I urge the supporters to come out in their numbers because I know we are going to entertain them with the kind of football that we play,” he said.
The defender also emphasised that the team is going into the match well prepared as they are aware that Sundowns is a relentless team that plays with determination, so the encounter most certainly won’t be easy.
AmaZulu will be without striker Augustine Chidi Kwem who is serving suspension and on the other hand, right-back Thembela Sikhakhane remains sidelined due to injury.
Sundowns will be missing Bongani Zungu who is also suspended and Rushine de Reuck will be absent after picking up an injury.
