An in-form AmaZulu FC will go in search of a hat-trick of Betway Premiership wins when they face SuperSport United at the Lucas Moripe Stadium on the evening of Wednesday 5 March 2025, with kick-off at 19:30 CAT.

AmaZulu defeated Cape Town City 2-0 on Sunday – thanks to goals from Elmo Kambindu and Nkosikhona Radebe – to claim a second successive win, as well as three victories from their last four league outings.

After a slow start to the campaign, Usuthu have truly found their rhythm and identity under coach Arthur Zwane (who had Vusumuzi Vilakazi as a co-coach for several months, before the latter’s recent departure) and find themselves in fifth place on the log.

“We worked on their [the players’] minds to say, ‘forget about the past.’ Right now, we’re not even thinking about the [29] points that we have accumulated, we are thinking about the next three points that can make a difference for us,” said Zwane as he turned his attention toward the challenge of facing SuperSport.

United are currently experiencing a dip in form. They suffered a ninth loss in their league campaign when they were beaten 1-0 by strugglers Magesi FC on Saturday.

Matsatsantsa have managed just one win from their last eight completed league games, and find themselves in the unfamiliar territory of 12th place on the log (just three points above the relegation playoff zone).

In head-to-head stats, SuperSport and AmaZulu have met in 55 league matches since 1990. Matsatsantsa have claimed 24 wins compared to 18 for Usuthu, while 13 games have been drawn.

When the teams met earlier this season, at the Moses Mabhida Stadium in early February, AmaZulu claimed a 2-1 home win. The Durban side led through Rowan Human, only to be pegged back by Siphesihle Ndlovu, before scoring a late winner through Ben Motshwari.
