AmaZulu head coach Pablo Franco Martin has expressed that he is proud of the team for how they’ve performed in the Nedbank Cup this season.
“I’m so proud of this match, of this club, of this team and the way we played,” he said.
“The way we stood up again after what happened in the last minute of the first half, when any team player could have gave up and not being mentally in the game again.”
Franco Martin believes that the team showed resilience by not giving up despite the circumstances and the perhaps controversial decisions made in the match against Orlando Pirates at the Moses Mabhida Stadium.
The coach was not impressed with some of the officiating that took place in the match, especially the penalty that was given against Usuthu in the closing stages of the first half.
He went on to thank the fans for their support after the game, even though it was a disappointing loss for the team.
“We are going to keep making them feel proud of us,” Franco Martin remarked.
AmaZulu will play against Orlando once again, this time in the DStv Premiership in an away clash where they will hope to avenge their loss in the Nedbank Cup.
