AmaZulu FC defenders Mbongeni Gumede and Riaan Hanamub are looking forward to facing Mamelodi Sundowns on Wednesday.
The DStv Premiership encounter is scheduled to take place at the King Goodwill Zwelithini Stadium in Umlazi, Durban. Kick-off is at 19h30.
Usuthu are ready for the champions
“It’s going to be a difficult game for us and we all know that Sundowns is a team that plays with determination,” Gumede said.
“It is one of the biggest teams in South Africa. We know what we are up against. We were ready for them. We know what to do when we face them.”
Usuthu fans make a difference
“The support that we enjoy at home makes a difference. We have played in Umlazi before. I know we have supporters there,” Gumede added.
“I urge the supporters to come out in their numbers because I know we are going to entertain them with the kind of football that we play.”
Unity is key
“We need to be united,” Hanamub said.
“We need unity because we are fairly strong when we are united and also we have to work hard, and do all the right things, then the win will come.
“The support from our supporters is vital, it gives us extra morale just to see our supporters supporting and cheering us from the stands.
Representing the badge
“We just have to work hard and thank them (fans) with a win. My plea is for them to come out in their numbers and support us,” Hanamub added.
“We will do everything we can to represent this club and badge very well. They should never give up on us.”
