AmaZulu’s next DStv Premiership clash will be against fellow KZN opponents Richards Bay FC on Tuesday evening at the King Zwelithini Stadium. Kick-off is at 19h30 CAT.
Usuthu were victorious in their last league match against Chippa United, winning 2-1. The team currently occupies 11th position on the log with 31 points.
Richards Bay lost their last league match against Cape Town Spurs last week, and the Natal Rich Boyz will aim to challenge Usuthu as they are grinding hard to escape relegation. The team is 15th with 20 points.
Ahead of the match, AmaZulu head coach Pablo Franco Martin made a bold claim of the team, stating that they are the best in KZN.
“So far this season, we have played…I don’t even remember how many. But we have won most of them, I think four and we drew two,” Franco Martin expanded.
“So, right now today, we are the best team in KwaZulu-Natal in that mini-league. And this is something that is important for the club, the president and the fans and us as coaches and players.”
“I think it’s a matter of pride and finishing that mini-league on top, and I think this is something that hasn’t happened in a long time. So, it’s one of those parts of small history that we are writing – Carling Cup, Nedbank Cup, it’s not the huge page that we want to write one day in the future.”
