The current break will give AmaZulu FC head coach Romain Folz a chance to improve the team.
The Frenchman took over the reins at Usuthu in October this year and he has taken charge of six competitive matches – drawing four games, losing one and winning one.
AmaZulu’s last match was in the Carling Black Label Cup as they were eliminated by Mamelodi Sundowns in the semi-finals on November 12 and Folz is now keen to work on his players’ mentality and physical strength.
“I felt like most of our players were not ready physically and when you face a [Sundowns] team that is good on the ball you must make sure you play well and move the ball very quickly,” Folz said.
“We will be better after the break as we will improve during the FIFA [World Cup] break,” the former Township Rollers head coach continued.
“When I came here, my priority was to stop the sequence of defeats at the club and try to get everyone in a state of mind to understand they can be solid as a unit, and that’s one of the things I will be working on during the break.”
Usuthu are scheduled to face Sekhukhune United on December 31 in Polokwane as the DStv Premiership resumes.
