AmaZulu FC head coach Romain Folz was left to rue his side’s missed chances following Saturday’s match against Marumo Gallants.
Usuthu drew 1-1 with Bahlabane Ba Ntwa in a DStv Premiership which was played at Moses Mabhida Stadium where Joseph Molangoane’s goal was cancelled out by Sere Junior Dion’s superb strike.
Folz was pleased to see his side fight back after conceding and he also feels that the KwaZulu-Natal giants have to improve in front of goal having missed several chances during the game.
“The opponents scored first, I think we could have done better to prevent them from scoring,” Folz said.
“I still have to see exactly what happened there. The way we reacted after the goal was good, we were able to put pressure on them and we were able to fight back.
“I think the penalty came from our mistake but we were lucky because they didn’t score. We wasted a lot of chances in front of goal, there are three or four that I have to look at again,” he added.
“I need to see exactly what happened. If we can correct those mistakes, we will be able to win a game like this one.”
AmaZulu are currently placed eighth on the DStv Premiership standings – three points behind fourth-placed Orlando Pirates with 13 matches left.
Folz’s side will be away to Richards Bay at King Zwelithini Stadium on Sunday in a KwaZulu-Natal Derby clash.
