AmaZulu FC’s attacking midfielder Hendrick Ekstein is looking forward to facing his former club, Kaizer Chiefs on Friday.
The 32-year-old was one of Usuthu’s standout performers in the game against Royal AM in a DStv Premiership encounter last weekend.
It was Ekstein’s first appearance of the current season and he is now hoping to help Usuthu secure a win over Chiefs in another league clash.
“Playing Chiefs will not be an easy task because of the way they are playing and they’re also coming off a loss,” Ekstein said.
“So, both teams are looking to get maximum points.
“I think it’s going to be an entertaining game and I hope the best team on the day will win and that’s obviously going to be us.”
The former Sabah FK star is pleased to be back in Usuthu’s first team and he is keen to reward coach Romain Folz for the faith shown in him.
“I’m happy because the coach told me that he’s giving me a chance and coming back from the MDC team,” he added.
“He (Folz) said I should show that I know how to play football and I’m trying every day to reward the faith he has in me.”
Usuthu will play host to Chiefs at the iconic Moses Mabhida Stadium in another DStv Premiership encounter.
