In a tightly contested Betway Premiership match at Moses Mabhida Stadium, AmaZulu and Golden Arrows fought to a 0-0 stalemate on Saturday.
Despite dominating possession and creating several promising opportunities, Usuthu couldn’t find the breakthrough against their local rivals.
The first half saw AmaZulu creating multiple chances, with Rowan Human’s early box penetration and subsequent shot being blocked, and Tshepang Moremi’s follow-up saved by Watenga.
Ekstein’s attempt struck the crossbar, while Arrows’ Ryan Moon also came close with a shot just over the net.
The second half continued in similar fashion, with AmaZulu pressing hard for a goal. Wayde Jooste delivered an excellent pass to Etiosa Ighodaro, whose header narrowly missed the target.
In the closing stages, Ighodaro again came close, hitting the crossbar after a pass from Riaan Hanamub.
A potential goal by Moremi was ruled offside, adding to AmaZulu’s frustration. The result means both teams share a point in this closely fought Durban derby.
