AmaZulu FC strikers Andre De Jong, Siphelele Mthembu and Abraham Majok should step up and start banging in the goals for the team.
These are the words of the Usuthu coach Brandon Truter with the club’s striking department having been hit by injuries in recent times.
Strikers Augustine Mulenga, Bonginkosi Ntuli and Lehlohonolo Majoro have all sustained season-ending injuries.
De Jong, Mthembu and Majok are AmaZulu’s only experienced strikers who are fit and available, and Truter has challenged them to step up to the plate.
“They must step up to the plate,” Truter said with Usuthu set to take on his former club, Swallows FC at the Dobsonville Stadium on May 3.
“Andre is doing fantastically well for his national team (New Zealand) and he needs to bring that form to the league.
“It is the same with Shaka (Mthembu). His main responsibility is to be a top striker for the team.”
AmaZulu have four matches left in the DStv Premiership this season and they are currently placed seventh on the standings – five points behind third-placed Cape Town City.
Usuthu will take on Swallows FC, Sekhukhune United (May 7), Cape Town City (May 14) and Lamontville Golden Arrows (May 21).
