AmaZulu FC head coach Arthur Zwane was in the running for the Betway Premiership Coach of the Month accolade.
The 51-year-old tactician and along with Vusumuzi Vilakazi were in charge of Usuthu’s five league matches in the month of February.
The KwaZulu-Natal giants recorded three victories, one draw and one defeat in the local top-flight under the duo.
Therefore, Zwane and Vilakazi were nominated for the league’s Coach of the Month award for February, which was won by Mamelodi Sundowns’ Miguel Cardoso.
“The Sundowns coach’s tactical acumen gave him the edge over strong contention from AmaZulu FC then co-coaches, Arthur Zwane and Vusumuzi Vilakazi, as well as Ronnie Gabriel of Richards Bay FC who were exceptional during the month,” a PSL statement read.
Zwane is now AmaZulu’s sole head coach following Vilakazi’s departure after deciding to resign in late February.
Nicknamed Mangethe, Zwane has since masterminded a win over Cape Town City and a draw with SuperSport United in the league.
