The saying that dynamite comes in a small package has proven true once again in midfield sensation, Ethan Brooks (22) as he was announced as recipient of the Ambitious Player of the Quarter on 17 October.
Brooks beat fellow teammates, Tshepang Moremi and Veli Mothwa to the award, amassing the most votes on the club’s social media polls.
Despite a slow start to his career at Usuthu due to injury the former TS Galaxy man’s coming of age is upon him as he becomes the only player to clinch it consecutively, having picked it up towards the end of last season.
The elated Brooks said of his award: “I’m grateful. Obviously, it’s not only through me that I got this, but my teammates also. I just want to say thank you to them – the coach also gave me the opportunity to play and the fans also who voted. A big thank you to all of them.”
The revolving accolade which is powered by the club’s vehicle sponsor, Mitsubishi Motors gets voted by fans every quarter as an added incentive towards fans.
Supporter, Mzokhona Gcabashe won in the fan lucky draw for participating voters and will soon receive his hamper courtesy of Mitsubishi.
Although the result was a defeat to Usuthu, fans applauded with aplomb as Brooks got his opening league goal at Dobsonville Stadium, a match he singles out as his best of all 8 thus far.
