Abbubaker Mobara is a professional footballer who plays as a centre-back for South African top-flight club AmaZulu in the Betway Premiership. Mobara has nine caps for the South African national football team.

The player joined AmaZulu in 2022 and has scored one goal for the team. Mobara made 20 appearances for Usuthu across all competitions in the 2023/24 season.

He started playing football at the age of three and says he is inspired by Italian legends Leonardo Bonucci and Giorgio Chiellini.

He signed his first professional contract with Ajax Cape Town (now Cape Town Spurs) in 2011/12. He shares that a highlight of his career was when he represented the country at the 2016 Rio Olympics and he got to share the pitch with Brazilian star Neymar.

“Being part of that experience made me feel ready for the next level,” said Mobara at the time.
