AmaZulu continued their impressive run of form with a convincing win over a struggling Cape Town City at King Zwelithini Stadium. Goals from debutants Elmo Kambindu and Nkosikhona Radebe secured a well-deserved victory for Usuthu.
Despite the positive result, Head Coach Arthur Zwane acknowledged the team faced challenges in their preparation due to poor weather conditions.
“I have to commend the players because we didn’t have an ideal preparation due to the weather. We lost about a day and a half of training, and I knew that fatigue would set in at some stage,” Zwane explained. “That’s why the substitutions were crucial—we needed fresh legs to keep the energy levels high.”
Zwane praised his squad for their defensive discipline and tactical awareness but highlighted areas that still need improvement.
“We defended well and showed good tactical discipline. However, we need to refine our decision-making in the final third. We had several opportunities in the first half where we could have punished them, but poor choices let us down. If we can correct that, we’ll be a very difficult team to beat. Credit to the players for their effort,” he added.
The victory propelled AmaZulu to fifth place in the Betway Premiership standings with 29 points, setting them up for a crucial midweek clash against Matsatsantsa.
