AmaZulu will be looking forward to their next Nedbank Cup match in the Round of 16 against Limpopo outfit Sekhukhune United at the Peter Mokaba Stadium on Thursday evening. Kick-off is at 19:00 CAT.
Usuthu have played to two 1-1 draws in their last two matches in the DStv Premiership against SuperSport United and Moroka Swallows respectively, so it is now crunch time for the team to look for a win in the next round of the Nedbank Cup.
In their previous match in the cup, the team beat KZN rivals Royal AM 1-0 and will hope to replicate a similar outcome against Sekhukhune. The Limpopo team is currently in decent form, so it could be a huge test for Usuthu to step up to the challenge.
Speaking ahead of the next match in the Nedbank Cup, head coach Pablo Franco Martin has expressed that the team is currently doing everything that they can to progress.
“We’re trying to improve what we did in the first half of the season but the improvements are just coming from the technical staff and the players themselves,” he said.
“This is a matter of responsibility and we have to share the responsibility. We need to do better, we can do better. We need to keep growing, that’s for sure.”
The fixture will be the first time that the two sides meet in any cup competition and Usuthu is prepared to show grit as they did in their last fixture, but this time a win is necessary for Pablo Franco Martin and his charges.
