AmaZulu Football Club celebrated Nelson Mandela Day by partnering with Build It Zululand to renovate Qambokwethu Primary School in KwaDlangezwa, North of KwaZulu-Natal. This initiative underscores the club’s dedication to promoting selfless service within the community, inspired by Nelson Mandela’s legacy.
The event was led by AmaZulu’s CEO, Sinenjabulo Zungu-Ntuli, who expressed gratitude to Build It for their ongoing support of impoverished communities. AmaZulu local defender Sphephelo Majola, along with Director of Football; Pedro Dias, Team Manager; Motuba Mokoena, Assistant Coach; Siboniso Vilakazi, and other staff members, actively participated in the renovations, which included painting and other improvements to the school premises.
Qambokwethu Primary School’s Principal, T.J. Langa, expressed deep appreciation for the efforts, highlighting the significant improvements made, such as installing windows, enhancing the playground, painting school walls, and distributing educational toys and supplies. Langa emphasized the positive impact of these efforts on the children’s education and overall well-being.
“They have done quite a lot for us, putting windows in place, the children’s playground, painting the school walls and handing out educational toys and goodies.”
“Ours is to try and make a difference in the kids’ lives, we are grateful to Build It and AmaZulu for providing such a platform today through the Nelson Mandela 67 minutes campaign,” said the school principal.
